This year HUBS festival invited a fellow artist, scenographer and ArtScience alumna, Ludmila Rodrigues under the moniker ‘The Body of The Audience’. She cooperates with a selection of works that enhance the immersive aspect of the festival throughout De Nieuwe Regentes building. ‘The Body of The Audience’ is an approach to develop works that raise awareness of, and articulate the physical, the sensory and the social experience of the audience. After writing the thesis entitled ‘The Body of the Audience’ in 2013, Rodrigues has been researching and creating performances, interventions and choreographic instruments following this philosophy. From observers to actors, the public must take an active stance and engage with their full bodies in order to live the artwork.
